Three weeks between October and November I had the opportunity to be on business trip in this insular country. However because the main aim of this trip was work, my time for traveling was a little bit limited. In spite of that I did get a chance to look around outside the university, where I spent (of course) most of the time.
Immediately after arriving I met with my good friend Konosuke, who became then my japanese guardian angel for whole my stay. Soon after arriving I was introduced to the japanese style: a microscopic flat, where is everything necessary and unnecessary (washing machine, TV, different electrical appliances and mainly a bed with a spiffing duvet!!!); and all the do´s and dont´s - first of all the way to discard litter (correct sorting), not being open to strange people and in the evening not being noisy. I recalled that "noisy advice" whenever my housemate on the floor above me each morning and evening nicely scuttered on the heels..."thump-thump-thump-wham" (the door was closed). Also not to lose the key, the phone number for Konosuke to have on the neck in order to reach SOS-friend quickly. On the way to school in the morning, the workers from the neighbouring house staring unbelievelable at the blonde woman who greeted them in japanese. The gatekeeper who met me the first day was deeply curtsing before I crossed the street to university yet and then Prof. Tomogane smilingly bidding me a good morning- "Ohajo gozaimas´, Irenasan!"...
